The mission of the Southwestern Medical District TIF District is to provide a source of funding for public infrastructure improvements anticipated to enhance the real estate market for this area. The Southwestern Medical TIF District represents the outgrowth of the City of Dallas’ effort to provide a model for redeveloping a former industrial and warehouse district to take full advantage of the expanding DART light rail system, to promote transit oriented development, especially in areas that are major employment centers like the Medical District, and to implement appropriate urban design standards.
