After last weekend's closure of the Palm Restaurant, the cognoscenti wondered, "Was Al Biernat's next?" In short: Nope. In 1998, Biernat left his gig managing the Palm to open a self-named restaurant on Oak Lawn Avenue. It's been a gangbusters success.
